Filling the gaps

Director: Fernando Sobron

A documentary about imagination and documentary; Filling the gaps is a film about the way we construct and understand documentaries. It illustrates how we use our imagination to connect facts, ideas and thoughts to put together and interpret documentaries, often making convenient substitutions. It invites to a reflection about mediated representation of real events. Filling the gaps explores the subject in a lateral way, suggesting rather than telling, encouraging exploration at the root of issues like truthful representation, fake news, cultural appropriation and other widely discussed themes of our days.

This film is part of a combined programme with: Mega sexy robot dinosaur and Armenia(s), time for artists. These three films explore the world of filmmaking, both conventions and experiments, arts and artists themselves.
