Dunkey following European dreams

Director: Syed Muhammad Hassan Zaidi

Shot in three countries, Pakistan, Serbia and Italy, the Pakistani filmmaker from Dunkey following European dreams wants to explore why many people are leaving Pakistan. They cross through Iran and Turkey to enter Europe, with many of them ending up at the Serbian-Hungarian borders. Filmed in a raw and direct manner, this film shows the actual image of the hazards people face while trying to cross borders illegally. The filmmaker is allowed to follow their every step and goes with them to the places where they have to live whilst trying to survive the journey.

This film is part of a combined programme with: Elizabeth and Exodus. They give unique and new perspectives on refugees in different parts of the world, images we don’t see here in Europe.
